How long does it take?
It depends on how many songs you would like to record or the length of the material. Recording one song of vocals to a backing track often takes 1 to 2 hours. An audiobook would often take approximately 8 hours to record.
A selection of industry-standard equipment is available (also some not-so-standard). We can also edit, mix and master the recording. If you cannot come to us, we have a vocal booth that is fully mobile. This means we can come to you and set up wherever you wish.
What do I receive?
You will receive downloadable edited, mixed, and mastered files in high quality wav file format, and often in mp3 format too. Vocals can be tuned if required. We can provide you with files formatted to ACX requirements for release on online audiobook retail outlets.
The option of session integration with Zoom means that a producer or director can listen in and give guidance throughout the session. Remote recording through SessionLinkPRO, ipDTL, Source-Connect, Zencastr, etc. is welcome.
What should I prepare?
Rehearse the material that will be recorded regularly before the session. If you are booking a vocal recording, decide on which songs you would like to record and send us any backing music you might have before the recording session (we can provide it if necessary). When recording an audiobook or voice-over, sending us the script in PDF format before the recording would be appreciated.
We have worked on clean, tuned & edited productions to raw, dark and dirty sounds, on fact-based vocals to emotionally charged character acting and passionate vocal styles, pushing your voice to its full potential if appropriate.
